The Art Page
By Jean Page

The Yearbook staff is putting together a really great yearbook.  The more pictures they have to choose from, the better they can get everybody pictured in some activity.  I have checked out the online site for uploading pictures.  It works!  Go to images.jostens.com and then enter the user id 1133954 and the password rivet.  Follow instruction from that point on.  You can also put pictures on CDs and give to Mrs. Page or the yearbook staff.  If the pictures need fixing such as red eye, the CD is good because the staff can fix them in Photo Shop.  Pictures of swimming, middle school, and field trips are especially needed.  Any special awards received outside of school?  Let the yearbook staff know and get pictured!
The art classes are involved in drawing and painting projects.  It will not be long before we start getting things ready for spring shows.

From the Weather Desk...

Please be reminded that the Vincennes Catholic Schools follow the Vincennes Community School Corporation cancellations.  Therefore, anytime that you see a cancellation or delay for the community schools, that also counts for the Catholic schools.  Although we try to get everything on all of the stations, sometimes we are notified a little late to communicate the appropriate information to our families as early as the community schools are able to communicate the information.  However, rest assure that if you see a delay or cancellation for the public schools, then we are also under the same delay or cancellation and are doing are very best to get it out to all of the television and radio stations.  If you have any questions concerning this policy please feel free to contact either Janice Jones at Rivet or Ann Pratt at Flaget.

PRINCIPAL’S NOTES
From Mrs. Janice Jones

     Script Program

The Christian Education Foundation (CEF) offers a program known as the Script Program that sells gift cards for a wide variety of vendors throughout the United States.  We also have gift cards for many of our stores and restaurants in the Vincennes area.  While many of you are already utilizing the program, we would like to encourage you to talk with your friends and family members and let them know of the value of this program.  While supporting their favorite restaurant or store, they would also be helping the CEF raise money to support our local Catholic schools.
The CEF purchases gift cards at a discount from various vendors.  We then sell them for their full face value giving us a profit from the sale.  These are all gift cards to many of the merchants you use on a regular basis.  Why not buy Script and benefit your school?  Each gift card you buy means a direct profit for the CEF.  All the funds raised by the CEF go directly to the support of the schools.  Last year, the CEF raised $14,000 from the Script program.  The CEF gives $200,000 to the schools each year and provides $35,000 in direct scholarships for students to Flaget or Rivet.  Your purchase of Script helps us provide this assistance.  Once you have reached $5,000 in Script purchases, you will receive a $100 deduction from your school tuition for that year.
We would like to thank you for supporting the Script program and the CEF.  A complete list of Script vendors is available in the CEF office.  If you would like further information, please call Shirley Yochum in the CEF office at (812) 882-5889.
