Welcome to Flaget Pre-K! Our Pre-K program consists of 4 different classes. We have a Monday, Wednesday, Friday morning class and afternoon class for 4-year-old students. These classes are held from 8:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. We also have a Tuesday, Thursday morning program available for 4-year-olds as well. It is held from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. For 3-year-old children we have a Tuesday, Thursday afternoon class from 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. In our room “little ones” are always welcome!

Currently our program is a weekly theme-based program with emphasis on phonetic skills and literature. We dedicate a lot of time and energy preparing children for reading by teaching alphabet recognition along with phonics on a weekly basis. Concepts such as opposites, shapes, colors, rhyming, sequencing and numbers are also introduced. We pride ourselves on exposing children to lots of various activities involving music, language arts, science, P.E., and center-based art. Field trips and student programs are also part of our busy year. We love to have a “fun and creative” time on a daily basis. Another popular component of our Pre-K program is a traveling bear lovingly referred to as Tuttle. Tuttle gets to “travel” home with each of our students for a few days and have as many “adventures” as possible! Tuttle is a very polite houseguest although the students tell me he has been known to snore on occasion. Other than that, he’s just a big huggable bear who loves to cuddle and have fun!
